I just bought a 1996 Fender 50th Anniversary Eric Clapton Signature Series Stratocaster today. I was told it was made in America, but when I took it home I noticed there's no mention anywhere on the guitar of where it was made. I definitely paid a price that would be charged for a USA Strat, so I want to be sure. Can I tell by looking at the serial number?

Can I tell by looking at the serial number? It's a serial number beginning with SN6_ _ _ _ _ _. I tried to look it up on Fender's website, but there wasn't a way to search serial numbers. Any tips?

hi back, I see you revealed this question two times. All particular order guitars now go by the Fender custom save. huge greenbacks. Time is in all likelihood a minimum of 6 months. The custom save representative will communicate time schedules once you communicate what you want on your custom outfitted Strat. Later,

You should be able to look the serial number up on the Fender website.

It should tell you where and when it was made.

they usually ALWAYS say where they are made from. EX: made in the USA; made in Japan. it should be engraved on the guitar. I would suggest calling the company that makes the brand and asking them.

Dude you might of got ripped off. On ALL of fenders products, especially if they are made in the USA it will say it right on the headstock or the neck plate. If not you got ripped off. UNLESS IT IS CUSTOM DONE!!!! So dont jump to conclusions.
