Go for it... but consider many other venues. You see, a business and reputation require repetitive advertising venues. I am serious when I suggest that you show your business name and website everywhere.

For instance, you forgot to tell US who and what your business name and website is.

Get a sign for your car. Get a sign for your Husband or boyfriend's car

Put posters up in the library and other locations in town that allow it.

Run small classified ads.

Add a free advertisement or classified or Auction items at these websites and others:
http://www.craigslist.com
http://www.bidville.com
http://www.eptop.com

When you are NOT talking to a customer, try to figure out someplace else to POST a notice or poster. You want to be EVERYWHERE. There is no place that is BAD.

Good luck

If you're already thinking of posting, it means that you have already written the release.

You can use services such as PR NewsWire http://www.prnewswire.com/ which can get your release to BOTH print and online editors and publications. However, they are NOT cheap. They have an annual membership fee https://prndirect.prnewswire.com/brochures/PR_Newswire_Membership_Application.pdf (check if they still have the special rates for small businesses).

Then you have to pay for the actual distribution which can range from about $110 for one metropolitan market (e.g. Metro DC covering Baltimore, DC, Northern VA, Southern MD) to $600 for nationwide release.

You can also do it yourself and contact local newspapers for instructions on how to send a release (most will want it through fax, not email as editors are inundated by emails already)

Another alternative is to submit your release via "free" press release submissions. They are free because they have limited distribution, mostly online. Some are "free" and places your release only on their website such as PRWeb where you have to "donate" at least $80 for your news to be sent to both Google News and Yahoo News. Here are those free press release submission sites:

Log on to your local paper. Many have "New in Town" or "Welcome...." columns which will mention your arrival. If you want a bigger spread, do some charity work such as demonstrate to a school class, display jewels to a science class, explain cleavage to a math class, visit a nursing home for a secret dress up day. A unique article sells to the paper and adorns your name with beauty.

Host a "premier" party and invite the press as well as potential customers, individuals as well as other businesses that might buy your wares.

You can get the information for many, many newspapers, television and radio on line. I've supplied a few but there are many, many more. Don't forget to check your local yellow pages as well.
