Scorpions belong to one of the 11 living Orders
of arachnids. The other common and widespread
Orders of arachnids are spiders (Araneae) daddy
longlegs (Phalangida), pseudoscorpions and
ticks mites and chiggers (Acarina). They do not
belong to a division of the "insect family". There is
no such thing as "the insect family". Insects form
a Class of the Phylum Arthropoda. Scorpions and
their relatives are in the Class Arachnida, also in
the Phylum Arthropoda.

Insect - means body is divided into sections. Three to be precise: head, thorax and abdomen.
So, spiders and scropions do not belong the the insect class. They belong to Archanida. More information here:
