It isn't a bad things so long as he is not getting fat as a result of being fed foods high in protein. A lot of people will feed their iguanas monkey chow, as it is high in protein and makes iguanas grow fast but the end result is that it can cause various health problems which will shorten the life of the animal.

That is a good thing, A nice healty iguana is key. Iguana's don't get fat or overweight like mammals do. reptiles will eat until they are full, and as long as you are ony giving them the veggies and occasional fruit, then he is perfectly healthy. A lot of people will feed their ig 'people food', this is not recommended because their body doesnt know how to process the fats and preservatives that we put in our food.

Our oldest ig is almost 5 feet, her name is Ig Monster; but we call her 'iggy the piggy' because she eats like crazy! her legs are thick and her belly is nice and big (over a foot around her midsection!), but i have been told by 3 different vets that she is "PERFECT". I wouldnt worry. Feed him daily.

As long as it doesn't get out of control I think it's okay. You should take him to the vet for a checkup just in case.
