Most mean or difficult people are insecure, or not comfortable in thier situation. I don't let them bother me. it's better to foucs on the ones you love and your family, and let the miserable people make other miserable people more miserable...they seem to thrive on this kind of thing anyway.
If you have to deal with some one who is a bone head, let them think they have the idea, or agree with them on some point or another, if they think that you think they are smart then they asume the same of you and are less likely to pelt you with thier crap. All in all it is the flexability of our own self and our own understanding of people that allows us to move through this world, well this and beer.

it all depends on the situation..
if is has nothing to do with me..forget about it..ignore them...
if they are bothering me...maybe try to calm myself down, I give little smile, and ask if there is anything I can do to help them ...and if they continue to abuse the conversation, I say kindly as I am looking at my watch..OH I have an appointment I can not miss, have a great day and I smile and walk away....
really...
so just SMILE
ans walk away..and as you turn to leave wish them a great day or say God Bless and then leave...
smile
good luck

Hi lovefmylife,
LQQK if I am in yahoo I can send then to the iggy bin (ignore) all you have to do is click on there head & check the box that'll do the deed.
In life just listen & then tell them have a good day & smile at them.
At the office give them the cold shoulder they'll get the hint sooner or later. Have a good day! :0)

I try to remain objective in the given situation, seeing their point of view, then at some point my own opinion comes into play,in other words I tell them how I feel about it all & them..not in a hateful way but a stern one in order to hold their attention, then I abort the mission & move on..resolved or not I always feel better knowing I got to put my 2 cents in as well.

Try to avoid them. There are more nice people around me than difficult ones.

I found out they just need to be heard .Try this ...how can i help you achieve your ultimate goal of satisfaction ,(providing there is no sexual innuendo) they are not use to being treated as humans, and reduce the frustration ,buisiness does not take care of the consumer and yes the customer is always right but they must be punished for it lol

Dealing with difficult people, implies going against them. You don't need to deal with them, you just need to understand them, and pretend their actions do not bother or have any effect on you whatsoever.
Once you react to their actions, they will realize their effect on you.
So don't react, just be cool and calm.

I ignore them until I can't take it anymore. Then I tend to blow up and curse a lot and sometimes throw things. I also do this during football games.
