We still go. There is one about 20 miles from here. $15 for a carload and they make sure that vans and trucks park at least 4 rows back so they don't block cars. We pop our own popcorn and take along drinks and chairs so we can sit in front of the car. I always fall asleep because I get up for work early and just can't stay up late.
It was more fun in the 70's though. 2 movies for $2 per person, but friends always snuck in. A case of beer a bag of decriminalized plant matter and it was party time! The drive-in season ends differently now. It gets cold out and they close. Back in the olden days they usually had a dusk to dawn horror marathon. A couple of good ones and several real lame ones, but hey, it was only $2 and we had the beverage and herbage so it didn't matter.

My parents took me a couple of times when I was younger. I haven't even seen a drive-in movie theater for the past ten years though. I live in Chicago so that might be why. I'm sure they still have some out in the country somewhere. I think it would be romantic to take a girl to the drive-in, they just aren't really around anymore like they used to be.

Yes, I've been to a drive-in movie. The first time was with my parents in 1966 when I was 7 and we went to see Walt Disney's "The Love Bug." (This is the same movie that Lindsey Lohan remade.) We got to go in our PJ's and eat popcorn in the car-what a TREAT!
The last one I went to was in about 1985 and I don't remember what it was. Too much beer, too much s*x which lead to too many foggy windows. What a difference a couple of decades make, huh?

Yes I remember the last time we were at a drive-in Saturday Night Fever was playing , So I guess you could say it's been quite a ways back. Loved it because you fix your own popcorn and have the kids in their pjs. Those truly were the good ole days huh.

unfortunately i have not. yeah i know. i'm missing a timeless classic watchin' a drive-in movie. i never got a chance to and not many are around anymore. i guess their popularity as a drive-in movie is dwindling. now if they started showing the LORD OF THE RINGS TRILOGY at the drive-in then i'll most definitely go and along with everyone else who's also a fan. =D

Yes, but it has been about 23 years. I saw Rocky 3 at a drive-in when I was about 7. I think they shut most of them down. Here's a good site if you would like to find a drive-in in your area:http://www.drive-ins.com/

There is one about 2 miles down the road from my house, they play a double feature for about $6. I bring my dog, and let him run around. I go almost once a week in the summer.

oh dang, those sure were the days! we used to wear our jammies to the drive-in. my mom used to make popcorn in a cast-iron skillet, and put it in paper grocery bags...omg, it smelled so good! my brother, sister, and 3 cousins used to duck down on the floor behind the front seats, and my mom and auntie would cover us with a blanket and sneak us in. lol. by the time my kids came along, you paid by the carload, so you didn't have to hide in the trunk or make the kids duck down behind the seats anymore. lol. we have one drive-in left in northern cali, but it's like 2 hours from home, and i'm just not driving that far to get to it.
oh, that reminds me...when i was newly married and living in phoenix, we used to drive 2 hours to a drive-in down in tucson that had ninja movie marathons for $3 a carload...lol, they didn't have any speakers, you would have to tune your radio as far to the right as it would go on the am dial. lmao. we used to have a blast.
