The Pirate Movie?

Anyone remember this movie from the early 80's?

why dont we have movies like this anymore?

well last time i looked its the only movie ever called "The Pirate Movie"

and its about a young girl (20 or so) who is one of 12+ sisters under a father who is a major general.

Well thats the fantasy.

In real life she's a wimp with 12+ sisters who take advantage of her.

So when she is knocked out on a beach she dreams of pirates and her not so real life as the pretty daughter.

I remember that movie!! I liked it too! I actually had the soundtrack. This was a 'modernized' version of The Pirates of Penzance a classic Gilbert and Sullivan operetta. It did VERY badly at the theater. The 80s were NOT a good time for musicals to make a comeback and, we must admit, though we loved this - a great musical it was not.

i remember the movie. i loved it as a kid. i watched it recently and damn near pissed my pants laughing. it was cheesey but it was the 80s. everything was cheesey back then.
