Much to my annoyance, my cycle, which used to be a consistent 28 day cycle for several years, has within the last three months, been every 22 days. It seems like I just finish up and it's back again! What caused this and is there anything with the exception of birth control pills I can do to remedy it?

Have you changed your diet lately? Are you under a lot of stress? Have you recently moved to a different climate? Started taking a new over-the-counter vitiam or herbal supplement? All of these, and a few other 'external' factors can throw off your regular cycle. If any of the above are true, then stop doing the new routine and see if you return to your old cycle. If none of the above are true, and you don't return to your old schedule in another cycle or 2 you should see your doctor.

go to a doctor... it's normal to have your own cycle, but that's almost a week apart from the average.

an ablation would get rid of your periods alltogether, and you wouldn't have to deal with birth control (of course, you would for non-pregnancy purposes)

BC pills will regulate your periods. Maybe 22 days is normal for you.
