No, election day is not a holiday. But, that doesn't mean a city, county or state cannot make it a holiday.
Most employers do give employees time off to vote.

No it is not a holiday, but most employers allow you to miss work in order to vote as long as you can show that you had no other opportunity to vote in the early ballots.

Unfortunately, no....I could use a day off. Employers are however, required to give workers an hour off so they can go vote, so if you time it right and go after lunch or before, you can get a two-hour lunch break!

No. If you make a request to leave work to go vote, your employer must allow you a reasonable amount of time to do so.
