Possibly the basis of some could be, alot of creativity, even screenwriters, does come from actual events. Ilive in Vegas, lots of crazy stuff does happen here. But I haaven't seen anything extremely close to the news on the shows except the news caster used in the show, on TV, is the real news caster for channel 8.

I think the stories are fake, but the character of Grimson from CSI (Las Vegas) is based on a real person.

Some are based on actual events. Others are completely fiction.

There is a disclaimer at the beginning of each program that states, that the stories are fictional.
