To me there is no difference between a partial-birth abortion then to give birth to the baby and kill it. It's terrible what people do these days to an innocent little child and can still go on living their life. It you are that far a long in your pregnancy and have an abortion...ugh I don't even want to think about it. It's inhumane if you ask me, especially the partial birth abortion. I wish people would just give their babies a chance to live life, if you can't or don't want to take care of the child then give her to some deserving couple who can't have kids of their own. Why killing a baby is a choice people can make, I have no idea.

Partial birth abortion is wrong in every way. There is no reason for this to take place in any circumstance.

The biggest adversary to this being banned is that people say that it should be legal in an emergency to "save the life of the mother." Well, in all honesty, it takes longer and is harder on the mother to preform a partial birth abortion than it is to do an emergency C-section. How barbaric.

At this point that "fetus" is more of a baby than half a neonatal intensive care unit. If those babies are babies, so are the ones still "cooking" in the womb. You can't have it both ways!!!!!

I think any kind of abortion is sick. I mean, they're babies weather they have been born yet or not. And partial birth is the worst kind, that is just cruel and sick, and anyone who would do that is a monster. I do not believe in pro choice. If you dont want the baby, put it up for adoption, dont kill it.
My opinion is, that if you are pregnant then God has a purpose for that child. The baby could be the person to grow up and find a cure for cancer or something. And by having an abortion you are killing lots of people other than just that baby.
Sorry, got off on a tangent there.

During the first year after the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act was introduced in mid-1995, many opponents of the bill, such as NARAL's Kate Michelman and syndicated columnist Ellen Goodman, insisted that anesthesia given to the mother painlessly kills the babies before they are pulled feet-first from the womb and stabbed through the back of the skull. But in congressional testimony in 1996 -- virtually ignored by the news media -- this myth was emphatically refuted by the heads of the two major professional societies of anesthesiologists. Other experts testified that the babies are alive and fully capable of experiencing great pain during a partial-birth abortion. To learn more about the pain that partial-birth abortion inflicts on pre-mature human babies, and about the "anesthesia myth," click here.

If it is none of my business what other people do then no one would have a problem with the young mom who hid her birth and then killed her baby after it was born. I mean, we're talking about virtually the same thing. They just slap two different labels on it. Partial birth abortions take place when a fetus is fully developed. It is wrong and I don't see how any intelligent person can think it is okay.

Partial-Birth abortion is pretty much taking the head of an infant and drilling a hole in it, to my understanding.
I think abortion is okay, however, it should be before the group of cells turn into a wired central nervous system, one that feels and experiences pain.
I think modern medicine can save a baby and its mother, so that should not be an argument, deciding the fate of the baby.
Now when the baby might be in a serious state of agony once born, then I think it should be the conscious decision of the parent. A baby to be born to suffer and die is against my conscience to let live just so it justifies the pain of your own mercifuless heart. Its a hard decision one that I would not welcome.

I'm pro-choice to a degree. Anyone who knows what partial-birth abortion is and agrees with it confuses me. I mean it is a living being--it has the ability to live without his/her mother--and yes it already has a sex.

You know what makes me feel better about it though--is that those woman will be judged in the end. What's worse though--is that the woman who do get these abortions done have carried the child past five months, can feel him/her moving, know the sex of the baby, and know there is a possibility of it surviving outside of the womb and still kill it. What a shame!

I agree 100% with you! Partial birth abortion is horrific! I never really knew what it was until my friend showed me this:

It is just SICK and plan murder.
Baby's - humans- are all precious little gifts. They should not be killed because two people were not thinking of the consequences sexual intercourse has.

I just cannot believe another human could ever do this do a baby!

I agree with you. It is sick. I think people need to stop thinking they can do sick things because it's more convienent for them.

Ok. I know (personally know) people who have had abortions because they've been too young or something. Well honestly...people have to take responsibility for what they've done...and in the case of rape well. I'll be the first to admit I shouldn't have a say in what happens then.

And that person who answered should know that this is a pretty big nation and not everyone agrees with what the president says or what others voted. Of course there's still going to be a debate.

It's up to the woman with what she wants to do with her body. There are some instances where it may be necessary to have a partial-birth abortion. We cannot judge these women for what they do with their bodies/babies. What I'm more disgusted by are those females who have babies, and then abandon them in bushes or in garbage dumpsters, and leave them there to die. I feel that is far worse than a partial-birth abortion.
