My friend's thirteen and she wants to date for the first time ever, how do i help her make the right decision?

16 is the minimum, and even then it depends on the girl.
Hopefully, she'll be mature enough to say "no" and not feel pressured by wanting to be "popular" by 16. At 13, definitely not. She needs to be a kid as long as possible. Dating puts alot of stress on kids, especially girls.

Well, I think that is a little young myself.....15 or 16 is probably a better age for dating!!! It's is so easy for a young person to get caught up in a situation that they may find hard to get out of....I think I was 15 before I was able to have a solo date. My daughters will have to wait untill they are at least 15.

At least 16....any younger then that you can get into situations you are not mentally old enough to handle....that can happen at 16 also. Tell your friend don't get in a hurry to get into the dating scene she has plenty of time and will be glad she was older.
Our daughter was so mad at us because her younger friends were dating and we would not let her date till she was at least 16.
Now she is 30 and always laughs about it and thanks us for not letting her go out any younger then that. Glad we didn't care about the pressure, "all my friends are dating."

everyone is different, so it depends on the type of dating. it's fine for 13 year olds to hang out with guys and spend time alone with guys sure. but things shouldn't get too serious. stay away from sex for long as possible. sex seems to only cause problems for girls. take my word on that
