Well, before you do anything, I would recommend talking to your bestfriend first. If she seems really upset about it, don't do it, but if she's okay with it, go for it.
Just don't let the boy get in the way of your friendship.

I'm sorry but anyone who's EVER been with or even MEANT something to one of my friends is sooooo far off limits that they are no longer of the opposite sex in my eyes!!!!! This is a HELL NO!! And any "friend" that would do that to me, wouldn't be a friend anymore.
