I dont really know the story behind bonfire night, perhaps its something to do with Guy Falkes? I leant it in school but sadly have forgotten.

I just consider bonfire night to be just a night where the whole community or ALOT of people get together to entertain through fireworks.

I dont see it as a celebration as such, more of a form of entertaintment. So if the weather is good, i will actually go down to the park and pay to watch the fireworks. However, due to the weather today sadly i did not go. Its freezing!!

Yes unfortunately. I hate it because of the noise as I have 3 dog and a cat who get scared, but I also have a 10 year old son who loves his fireworks. We dont have a bonfire anymore though, I draw the line at that!

Since I've never heard of it, I guess not. I know what a bonfire is but I never heard of a bonfire night to celebrate.

This is really a UK question...we do on 5 November.. but no one else does.

PS It's gone 2 in the Morning here ...so you're just going to get a load of Americans answering no!

Unfortunately, even if you have asked this on the UK & Ireland site...it still comes up on the US site!
