Why aren't the owners of these websites arrested immediately after they broadcast? Law enforcement agencies could easily trace where the website is been shown from, right? Do pedophiles have rights in this regard, to be free to broadcast child-porn?

Such things fall under the jurisdiction of the home country of the host site, and not all countries are quite so keen on trying to bust pedophiles (though this is starting to change). Interpol can get involved, but their resources are stretched rather thin with other criminal activities.

First, pedophilia is not illegal worldwide. In fact, it's not illegal in most countries. Pedophilia is finding children sexually attractive.

That is different than child molestation or child pornography, both of which are crimes in many (but not all) countries.

And no, law enforcement agencies cannot always easily trace such websites. Often the technological hurdles involved make it impossible to find out who is hosting the material, or sometimes even where the material is being hosted. This is especially true in many other countries with laxer internet laws.

So, yes, in many countries it is legal to make child pornography available over the internet. And because it's legal there, the only option is to find and stop the people here that are downloading it.

Actually, it is not illegal throughout the world, or if it is, those laws are not enforced in many countries. It is horribly sad, but there is a big pedo-tourist trade to many countries in SE Asia.

If law enforcement isn't doing the job, maybe people like you and I need to address the issue more directly. Instead of making same-sex marriage or other similar nonsense such a frigging huge issue, use your vote next Tuesday for more important issues like this one.

Didn't you know that pedophiles have more right that you to use the computer to get young kids-just like the convicts have more rights than you-death row inmates stay on death row 18 to 25 yrs before they pay for their crime-they can appeal for yrs to come-you try getting into trouble and see if they will let you go with a warning are a slap on the wrist.

I know this is a bit of a stray from the topic, but I believe this nation needs to turn back to God. You have scandals in the churches, a country that doesn't even put god first anymore, and basically a youth that is having sex at age 12. There needs to be alot more done in our on back yards, and media than we think. Although I believe the time has ran out.

Most of those types of websites are run in countries where the law would never get involved in that type of thing.

I don't think its illegal in thailand or cambodia.

Wow - a lot of people jumped on this one... I guess there are a lot of people schooled in pedophilia.

I defer to the experts....

they SHOULD be! It's sick and has to stop right now. Countries should work together for this on a common issue; this is outright exploitation.
