I heard their computers are so cheap is because they are used but are refurbished like they're new. Is this true?

Newegg is very reputable. If the computers are refurbished, they will be labeled as such.

Like most on-line outlets, they sell new AND refurbished units. Refurbished units are so advertised.
They are considered to be a very reputable firm, and I would not worry about buying from them, although I have not yet done so.

All products that say retail are brand new, if they are refurbished the web site will stipulate as RECERTIFED. If they say OEM those items are also brand new, but may not come with any accessories like a retail version.. Beleive me ... Once you know, you newegg...
