I have an A+ certificate. I can tell you that the certificate is useless but go ahead and get it anyway in case your dream job required it. BTW - pc repair techs don't make much money. I wish someone told me before I wasted all that money on that exam. I went on and got my linux certification. I started a new job at $55/hr.

Go to www.hotjobs.com or some other job search web site and search for "A+". While you're at it, type in "linux" and compare.

I would say that you should probably grab the official study book and then you should also make sure you study practice exams. Talk with a friend who has taken it before so they can give you extra advice and help prep you for it. In my opinion, its pretty simple.

Whatever you do, don't just grab any old repair book. You have to past the exam, not learn how to repair a real computer.

(You could be the best pc repair tech and still fail the exam because you didn't study to past the exam.) Good Luck!
