As a married Heterosexual male, I have been wondering the same thing. How does it effect us, and since it doesn't why do we think we have the right to tell gay people that they can't enjoy the same rights as us. They pay taxes too, what ever happened to "taxation without representation" I say Homosexuals should stop paying taxes untill they are afforded the same rights as us Heterosexuals. They can't arrest every gay person in the country and If they tried, It would be a hate crime in my eyes. And I don't wanna hear "But the bible says..." I am a Christian and I have two things to say about that 1) Let he who has no sin cast the first stone. It's not our place to Judge. 2) Amendment 1. We can't force people to follow Christian values because it is garunteed in the constitution. Let em get married it aint gonna hurt you none.

When I heard the news about NJ I thought to myself , well, now I can go marry my girlfriend. My husband of 29 years laughed himself silly.
Of course its not going to affect my heterosexual marriage. I never knew anyone straight go gay or vice versa. Sure some people may experiment, but they only end up where they were going to go anyway. I do think there should be a civil marriage allowed since so many churches will not allow it and that is their privilege.

I'm not married and now I think, why bother? Divorce rates high. Adultery. Gays marrying. Children marrying adults. Soon anyone who wants to get married, can. Marriage has become a joke. It no longer means something spiritual. It has fallen to the lesser god - Man's law.

it received't influence everyone's marriage! Jehovah God condemns unnatural sex acts: Marriage in accordance to the Bible is between one guy and one woman. As shown in Genesis. Adam & Eve were married by technique of Jehovah God--it became not Adam and Steve! Then contained in the Christian Greek scriptures it mentions the be conscious "porneia" the position our be conscious pornography got here from--also contained in the Bible e book of one million Corinthians it mentions gay habit (condemning it and then) saying " it really is what a number of you've been, yet you've been washed sparkling..." after accepting God's guidance and repented and circled! a million Corinthians 5:11-13 “ yet now i'm writing you to stop protecting organization with everyone referred to as a brother who's sexually immoral or a grasping human being or an idolater or a reviler or a drunkard or an extortioner, not even eating with this kind of guy. For what do I even ought to do with judging those outdoors? Do you not choose those interior, even as God judges those outdoors? “get rid of the wicked human being from between yourselves.” What might want to be the understanding in the back of this guidance? To repent and turn round. keep in mind Sodom & Gomorra? it really is likewise a reminder of how God's wrath might want to be to unrepentant sinners!

With a divorce rate over 50%, I would be willing to give up the dream (my rights) of "gay marriage" only if they outlaw divorce for heteros.

What is being affected is not the institution of marriage in a tangible way, but in an intangible way.

And the most important thing to remember is that to say that gays have an "equal right to get married" is tantamount to saying that there is no difference between heterosexuality and homosexuality. That's what this is really all about.

no, duh.

Gays can get married all they want and it won't effect me.

However, the definition of marriage seems to change when suddenly you have a girl marrying a girl. I think the biggest worry (that seems to make the slightest bit of sense (lol)) is that eventually, since marriage is more leniant, eventually you'll be 'in live' with a cat, and be able to marry it. I can keep going.

Don't get me wrong, I do have a best friend who is gay, and I'm all for gay marriage.

I believe you are charactizing this issue in a way that no one I know characterizes it.

I personally oppose homosexual marriage. And I know it's not popular, but I oppose it because I believe homosexuality is a lifestyle choice, perhaps genetically predisposed, but developed environmentally. And until it is proven scientifically that people are born gay, my opinion is just as valid as yours.

But the real issue is that marriage is a proper issue for States to decide, under the 10th Amendment to the US C.

Vote against the Amendment, if that is your wish, but stop mischaracterizing the debate.

I think that it will not directly affect me and mine, but i feel that it reopens the door to Polygamy.

I'm perfectly fine with civil unions, but in my mind Marriage is a matter for Churches.

If a church refuses to preform a ceremony for Adan &Steve, will they have grounds to sue for discrimination?

If the state follows through on those charges doesn't that Violate that most precious of Liberal Truths, about the non existant seperation of church and state?
