It's not as hard as you think, but doesn't happen often.

Easiest way would be to download a trojan horse along with a suposedly legitimate program. Anytime you click on something on a web page, you may have just caused the download of a program you did not expect. That program might do anything at all, including
reformatting your hard drive whenever it feels like it.

If you use a wireless connection and it doesnt have a WEP or any type of enscription (security.) Then a hacker can gain access to your computer using your wireless router. And then if none of your computer that connect to that router, no matter if its connected by wire or wirelessly and also if the computers dont have a firewall then they could access and do what ever with your computers files. EVEN if its a Macintosh, ALL computers are at risk for hacking if the right precations.

To prevent this make sure your Wireless router (if you own one) has a secuirty code. ALSO MAKE SURE your computers have a firewall. If not use:

It can happen but it doesn't happen often...just make sure ou hae up-to date antivirus software for that cant happen. Its better off safe than sorry.. One other thing, make sure you dont give out any personal infomation online like social security number and stuff like that.....that wouldn't just be a hacker.... that would be indetity theft....have a nice day

Depends. Give me 10 seconds in front of your computer when you aren't looking, and I'll reformat your hard drive.

If you're talking about an online attack, that's a little trickier. Do you download music? People love to put viruses on songs and offer them up on share sites. Once you execute, you're all done.

Well they really cant, but it is possible to place a virus or some times key stroke activation files on your pc to hinder regular operations. If someone is threatening you tell them to do then. If it does work shut it down, if he is full of crap you will have called his bluff....
