Things start to change in a womans body around that time. I stopped having a period at the age of 42. Mine never did get heavy. I have a couple friends and theres are very heavy, they dont last very long though. I hope your going to the doctors. I think womens periods are up an down during there 40's until they stop. Hope that helped a little.

Yes - it was 37 for me. But it did get better.
Cayenne pepper pills helped as it is a natural clotting agent. Took 2 the first day and 1 each day after that. It's not like eating cayenne because the capsules dissolve in your stomach.
Sounds strange but it's true. A doctor and pharmacist both okayed it for me.

Yes, due to peri menopause. But it could be for a variety of other reasons including ovarian cancer.
If you have insurance or a clinic nearby, get checked. Keep track on a calendar for when it starts, which days are heaviest, how long, etc.

I don't know about normal but I'm 43 and my flow is the heaviest it's ever been. I have to wear maxi pads all day long and the ones for a very heavy flow for over night so I do not ruin my panties or nightgown.
