Heck yeah! America would definitely be different for example the flag would be the British flag. Americans would drink tea at teatime like the British Americans would spell the words "favour"and "practise" and not the Americanized "favor"and "practice". Things would be so different if america were still a British colony, We might even live in a world without Coca Cola (maybe we might have invented it under British rule...really I don't know.) America would be very diferent if still a British colony.

Well, that would depend if 1. There was no Revolutionary War (and if so, what butterflied that away?) or 2. There was a almost-Revolutionary War that was aborted. I'll just pick option #1. There would have to be a more benevolent king or queen on the British throne (and possibly more) to keep the Revolutionary War from boiling over. Then, you'd have to have monarchs (hopefully, a constitutional one) similar to that for nearly 300 years. Finally, you'd have to keep England from doing anything stupid between then and now that would cause a revolution. In fact, England would be very lucky to even have America as a colonial possession by 2006. In fact, it would more plausibly be part of the Commonwealth if anything.
But still, let's just say it *could* happen. We would be different from the America as we know it now. First off, we would have a culture that's more influenced by England and less influenced by immigrants and native peoples. Our accent will most likely be more similar to Britain (or something more "Colonial") than our American accent. Our government would have the King or Queen of England at the top, though we would probably have a Prime Minister representing us, with a possible Congress-like institution. We should have similar laws, but in some ways different. Essentially, if you did manage to visit a timeline that had an England that had America as a colonial possession, there'd be several differences.

Had the American revolution not occurred there is no telling how vastly different the world would be today, chances are if we had still been a Colony at the time of WWII the Brits may very well have given up the Isles, and relocated to our shores, leaving Europe to the Nazi's. which they would not have been satisfied with and come after this land as well. But that is assuming that we would not have seized upon WWI to launch a revolt and worked out a deal with the Kaiser to be left alone

The US would probably be a lot like Canada/Australia if it had never become independent from Britain.

We never did. It's always been that way. After the revolutionary war, Washington saw that we where insolvent. So he borrowed money from the Brits. So, they still controlled us, even after they left. And The Federal Reserve is not a government agency of any kind. It's a couple of Private European banks. The I.R.S. is there collection agency. Not part of the government either. Thanks to Woodrow Wilson. Don't take my word for it. Do your research.

Okay folks... Let's keep the ad hominem attacks against Republicans, Bush, Conservatives, etc., ad infinitum, ad nauseum out of this okay?
Zelda, as to your original question, it is an interesting one... It's hard to say. It would certainly be very different... HOW is harder to answer.

We would have less freedom, & we would talk with a strange accent.
We would be at the Queen's command & fight when the UK says fight. Our taxes would go to UK & we would have no respresentation. Who do you think would be sacrificed to protect the UK?
People in the South would drink a lot less tea.

You're right, that's exactly what the Neocons want America to return to being -- just another colony.
