Bending over a tub of large chlorinating tablets for the pool , in 2 or 3 seconds I got a whiff that won't quit . Is it ok to use a water solution - or will that make it worse . I can practically taste it .

When ever I get this after opeing new buckets of Chorine tabs for pools I will sneeze which will make my nose run a little and just blowing my nose afterwards takes care of it.
If you think that is bad wait till you open a new buckets of Chorine granules or PH minus.

The one nawer about water is a good one. Chlorine attacks mucous membranes and can damage most respiratory system parts, as well as eyes. If it was just a weak sampling of the gas, then anything you like the smell of will help alleviate the odor problem, but not the presence of the chlorine on/in you.

Some essential oils take a good sniff of that. Or Vicks vapour rub on the outside edge of your nose should lessen the smell.
