Iraq is in a state of total chaos and crisis unable to defend itself against the insurgency.....it will NOT get better because insurgencies take decades ......this is a war that never should have been and one we cannot win....Iran is salivating waiting to jump in and take over Iraq in such a weakened state. Thank you, my own country, for ruining so many lives.....both Iraqi lives and 21000 maimed soldiers , not including the almost 3000 dead....another Viet Nam....

Would say it could be if President had Clinton's brain and opposite party controlling congress. Look at results of Falkland War and pig sty military is currently involved. Saddam was holding things together with far less brutality then Stalin, but his bothers were gruesome thugs.
Think the Iraq war has made us less safe simply don't know about the world.

The answer to both is yes, Iraqis in the long run will be free from persecution, and the more that saddam got away with the more he would want,there was no satisfying his ego.
