Yea, I am only 16 and I have a long time (hopefully) before the Lord takes me away. But I feel like I havent done anything with my life. I see all these kids in sports & band accelerating in something they enjoy. I sit at home all the time
Im not a sports kid, Im a music fan. I love it. I was cheated in JH and Elem. school and didnt have band. So I joined it last year, and I feel useless. I dont know how to read music. I really want to learn snare & other instruments like piano or chello, but nobody will help me! They put me on cymbals in band, not much going on there! I have been playing guitar for about 2 years, but im not great at it. I havent had a lesson in so long. Playing guitar has been something i have always wanted to do but for some reason im in a rut. I want to do something interesting like gymnastics, but i just had knee surgery and its too expensive, & my father discourages me saying im not built for it. Im sure if I worked out more and tried I could.
How about you?

Glad to see you're a Christian....
Please try not to feel this way. I remember feeling like that at one time, too. I used to wonder about what God wanted me to do in my life, then I realized He has written it right there what He wants us to do...its all in His word!!
As for the recreation, pray about it. Ask the Lord for His will to be done. Keep letting your light shine, hon...and heads up!! You've already made the wisest decision you could ever make...the decision to serve the Lord!! Trust in Him, and He will guide you.
God Bless

Take a moment out to re-evaluate yourself. Many people feel the way you're saying you feel now and it's only because we look up to those who get more attention in their lives. The main thing is to make sure your self assessment is accurate.
Music is beautiful but requires the sender and receiver - much a radio transmitter and the receiver works. After you size up yourself, look at others around you and see yourself as they see you. I can guess that you are the envy of some of them close by.
Next, decide what you think you want for your musical or physical future. There are other " in-between" options that are available to you. Maybe you would like dancing or even the teaching in those arts that you fancy. The world is still big and you're in it for you and the rest of us. You are loved and appreciated.

I never really asked myself that because I was so busy being who I was at the time.I wasn't doing anything special.I asked and got the answer in one book."The Purpose Driven Life".We are all where we are suppose to be right at this moment. We are making our own choices but God is not surprised ever. Our purpose can be the most Glorious thing or the most menial thing. Some of us are here to serve others.I feel that is me.No shinning stars or medal.Being part of the bigger plan.

a lot of people would probably look at my life and say it hasn't amounted to much. however I'm raising two wonderful children. I can be counted on at work. I pay my bills. I help anyone i can anytime I can. It could be that your talent just hasn't found you yet. You never know what's around the corner, tomorrow you might save someones life who knows. I believe god has use for all of us or we wouldn't be here

Take private lessons on the instrument you are most interested in. My niece had to join band late, too so she is taking flute lessons to catch up with everyone else. God gave you the interest in music so use it! Get going!
