It is stupid to believe there are NO conspiracies.

Okay so there has never been a single conspiracy? That is the whole premise of my show.

Bored people come up with lots of things! Even people who are'nt bored come up with dribble.
Why not tell us a few of these "Conspiracy Theories" That they come up with?
Or are they only theories if you don't agree with them?

Most conspiracy theories are not born out tedium or stupidity on the part of their authors. Many conspiracy theorists are highly intelligent and have hectic lives just like the rest of us. Conspiratorial thoughts generally are produced because of healthy mistrust of the establishment. I think all revolutions that history deems to be worthwhile had their impetus in conspiratorial thoughts. Granted most conspiracies turn out to be mere conjecture on the part of imaginative minds. Yet some have turned out to be true, if not entirely, at least partially.

I think the existence of conspiracies is in fact quite beneficial for our society in that it always keeps us vigilant for any attempt at dominion by the ruling class. It is a safeguard against tyranny. If Nazi Germany had more conspiracy theorists that cast doubt on the propaganda peddled by the Reichstag maybe the German population would not have been so complicit in allowing for the wholesale slaughter of their brethren.

It is not so much a matter of boredom or stupidity as a kind of mild psychosis. People are more succeptible to conspiracy theories when their psychology is fragile; they feel vulnerable and paranoid, like people are planning things secretly. Sometimes people do plan things secretly, of course, but the fragile in mental health will tend to discount or overlook the logic that says "Of course the United States isn't trying to control people's minds with computer chips! There is no need! And it is far too impractical to think about!" The rest of us can see the absurdity of the idea of a "missile" attacking the Pentagon on 911. We immediately ask questions like, "Didn't anybody see the plane in the air before it hit the building? The Pentagon is in a very populated area." The answer is, "Yes," of course. But people of poor mental health (specific kinds of mental health issues, such as schizophrenia and dementia, etc.) will tend relatively to discount these observations and continue the delusional perceptions.

It's not a matter of intellect. It is a matter of mental health.

not at all I think conspiracy theorists are highly intelligent. To me it is like a magician. He draws your attention to something going on in his right hand but his left is working on something else. Many times this is true. Political groups regularly divert your attention so they can pass legislation to suit their desires.
