I am 16 years old and I'm not like other girls my age in many ways, but physically I am not as skinny or petite as they are. I have a fuller voluptuous figure, I'm not fat or anything like that. Now, my older sister has a petite figure and I think she looks GREAT and I hate the way I look. I don't like having a fuller figure because I'm not as small as the other girls. Again, I'm not fat just curvier than girls my age. Should I feel this way?

Not at all. skinny doesnt equal beautiful, and as you grow you'll find that a lot of men prefer curvy and voluptuous to stick skinny. Be proud of what you have, and dont let anyone talk you into believing that you're less beautiful because you're not 12 pounds.

The grass is always greener on the other side! I am petite and always have been and I've always hated it! People constantly tell me that I need to eat and literally try to force me to eat( which I eat just fine and I am healthy looking (5"4' 110 pounds), never had an eating disorder) and that I am getting skinnier and skinnier every time they see me ( when in fact I've always stayed around the same weight)! It's not that bad anymore and I am very happy with my build, however it really bothered me when I was in high school, and I always wished that I had an athletic figure, more voluptuous, while my friends always wanted my figure. You're in good shape........ The grass is always greener on the other side.......... just watch out for the dirty old men, they will be a thorn in your side if you dress the slightest bit sexy! Good Luck

I would LOVE to say "NO" but the truth is most people are simply unhappy with the way they look, and even though you sound simply great looking, why would that make someone happy? Most people simply want to fit in to whatever group they see and the group you describe is a group you don't look like.

LET ME TELL YOU, you simply sound like the type of girl whose body as well as mind could take her allot of places. Please do NOT let someone elses idea of beauty "infect" you and destroy your life or even make you unhappy. Its just not worth it. Look around, you'll be commanding the attention from the age of 15 up, not some bag of bones without enough meat to have a chest and hips.

Again, should YOU feel this way, NO, but the fact you do is totally understandable in this wacky world. Simply learn to wear your clothes and stand and sit to show your figure to best advantage. Its HOW you play the game that counts in this life and you definately sound level headed. Please appreciate what you have and learn to appreciate your own beauty, as others probably already do.

Why should you feel that way when you say, yourself, that you are just curvier! Guys love curves! Don't let any girl tell you they don't. If you want to firm up then go to a gym and exercise. Don't think you must diet or anything like that. Everyone is different and you are probably very pretty. Ignore any comment, They may be jealous of your curves! Dress in styles that show off your curves.

You should not feel bad at all about the way you look. Why do you want to look like other girls anyway? It's boring! Trust me, girls are wishing they had a curvier body, but they are just not expressing it right now because they are insecure. Every woman has some sort of insecurity about themself. No matter how beautiful they really are, or how beautiful others think they are. We are always finding flaws about ourselves, without allowing us to really love us.

One day, you'll appreciate that voluptuous figure! Full figured women are just as beautiful as women with a petite frame...and what's even more beautiful is confidence to go with it! Love yourself the way you are!

Honey, you are perfectly normal to be critical of your body because everyone at your age feels that way.
So you don't look like Barbie. That's cool cause she's a b*tch.
You look like you. Find styles that flatter your figure and flaunt what you've got. It's all about attitude. If you feel sexy, then honey, that's all you need.
Me, I'm built like a tank, but I manage to look and feel good. Go easy on yourself and like yourself. Trust me!

Think of yourself as a original petite figure. Everyone is beautiful in their own way.

its normal to feel that way. but as you get older, you will feel better. i remember being in highschool and not able to wear the same clothes as other girls because i was not a size two. (i felt the same way you do) as i got older, i learned that guys would prefer a curvy woman than a walking stick. plus, you can fill out clothes better.

but dont worry, curves are sexy!

hey, you know that when you look thru magazines and on tv, the only women that are considered to be attractive or desirable are the super thin ones with no boobs...which is just wrong...be proud of your body, you sound like you are wonderful...just work on internalizing the fact that you are fine!
