My accountant boyfriend delights in me as an actress because in bed, I can be anyone he wants me to be. On the other hand, he can only be his own rather mundane self.

Well darling you know what the say: good sex is 10% of a relationship; bad sex is 100% of it! Meaning that when it's bad you just can't ignore it! So what you have to ask yourself is, is it really boring and bad? If yes, leave him to his books...

Doesn't sound llike a relationship of equals.

Why does he delight in you being someone else?
Why do you need him to be someone else?

If you see him as 'mundane' why do you stay with him? Do you need to have a man to feel like you are someone? Does his 'mundane' nature ground your flighty nature?

When you look at the bigger picture (say from about 5,000 yards or 10 years away, whichever is sooner) what do you really see in this relationship? If it is good despite what you have said... then all well and good.

But don't reject him, encourage him out of his shell. Maybe he is not 'mundane' but lacking in confidence at showing anything other than the one 'mask' (personality) he has spent years perfecting. On the other hand, if you are in anyway trained as an actor you will have had the opportunity to perfect the 'talent' of creating a myriad number of 'masks' to wear 'as if' they are personalities.

So - either give him a break... or get one.

You have described him as mundane... this tells me that you should leave and let him find someone who finds him to be exciting and you should go act for someone else. Good luck sweetie.

Do you want someone else? I don't know that acting in bed is the enduring quality I d want anyhow. Good luck to you whatever you decide.
