I'd answer your question if I knew what a Rebublican is! Can you name any Rebublican candidates? How are they different from Republicans or Democrats?

The Republican party is actually a "big tent" and everyone can become a member. Republicans do not hate gay people. Ever heard of "Log Cabin Republicans" they are a group of Homosexual men and women, who happen to agree with the ideas Reagan put forth. Low taxes, help the economy and thereby raise the money flowing into the government coffers. And the concept that " Best government Governs least. We don't really care what your race, creed, or sexual preference.

Because in the end, the Terrorist want to kill us all, Gays and Straights, Black and White, Christian and Muslim, Democrat and Republican and Every political party in between.

Your Insistance on being Ignorant of your opposition shows the lack of respect you have for yourself and others. wisen up and listen, don't just take the words of John Kerry, or even mine for that matter. Use your own mind and actually think before you post something Ignorant and show off your stupidity.

I am a Republican. I am a conservative. I am a Christian...

I don't hate gay people at all...

What I DO hate is when people want special rights. What I DO hate is when people make their entire life about their sexuality. What I DO hate is any form of adultry, homosexual, or heterosexual.

However, I do not hate gay people. They are made in the Image of God just as I am, and they are flawed human beings just like I am. I am all for equal rights, and personally, I think all unions should be legally defined the same way. Let the government define ALL unions as civil unions... Give marriage back to the church and to those who actually care about it... Because as any person who has been married and has stayed true to that lifetime commitment will tell you, marriage is more than a peace of paper, more than a set of words or rights... It is a union of flesh, and a union of the soul.

Some people, including many Republicans, can't handle the fact that not everyone lives their lives in exactly the same way. They can't handle that not everyone believes that Jesus will send them to hell for being gay, they can't handle that some of us enjoy our civil liberties, and they cannot fathom that perhaps the government shouldn't be the business of deciding which forms of adult, consentual, monogamous sexuality are acceptable.

They don't even realize the extent to which heteronormativity guides their views of the world. So, then you wind up with people like the commenter complaining that no one should get "extra" or "special" rights. Because having the right to visit your partner in the hospital is some sort of huge burden on her heterosexuality. Because if gay people get married, it will diminish the cherished institution of marriage enjoyed by every married couple ever featured on MTV (Barkers - separated; Simpsons - divorced; Navarro/Electra - separated; Brit and Kevin - model of a perfect union). Then they get the idea that by not HIDING your sexuality that means you are shoving it in their face. In their paranoid minds, you are trying to recruit their children (like I was recruited to be heterosexual... right...), you are trying to force your way into their church (never mind the fact that plenty of churches would conduct gay marriages if they legally could), and you are making your sexuality the center of your life by pointing out that you are being DISCRIMINATED against on the basis of this sexuality.

Honestly -- and this is directed at the Republican party and not any individual -- if you don't hate gay people, then why don't you let them get married? Jesus doesn't approve? Fine - YOU don't have to have a gay marriage. Not traditional enough? Great - let's bring back plural marriage and concubines - the Old Testament is a great family model. The state shouldn't be involved in church matters? Then let's separate civil marriage from religious marriage!

Personally, I can't imagine being as bigoted as some, but some people seem to make careers out of it.

I'm getting to the point where I hate the word "hate." I especially hate the hypocritically sanctimonious people on the left who go around always pretending that they don't hate anyone.

Hatred is a two-way street and there are plenty of people on the left and in the gay community who have proven that they are quite capable of keeping their side of the street just as unkempt as the other side.

I am curious as well. I don't think they HATE them, I just think they are scared of gay people. Just let same sex marriage happen for Hell's Sake!

By the way, those that want to ban gay marriage because they think that gay people want their marriage to be recognized by the Church are sorely mistaken. What they are fighting for and pleading with the government is EQUAL rights as viewed by the law, not the church. That is a totally seperate issue.

They are also not 'shoving their lifestyles' down your throat. If anyone is guilty of this offense it is the religious right! You just may happen to disagree with their lifestyle, but you CANNOT disagree on their rights!

I think a greater percentage of gay people hate republicans than republicans that hate gays.

You're wrong. Republicans don't hate gay people. They love gay people, but are afraid to say it in public.

Scroll down for a peek at Bush leering at a gay prostitute and remember, Bush's spiritual advisor (the 'john' who uses gay prostitutes) spent every Monday alone with Bush before he was outed:

Considering how many of them ARE gay people, the question should be why do they work so hard to put gay people down.
