For the record, I am not looking for a fight. I also do not intend to comment on anyone's opinion. I simply want to know, why gay marriage is any of your business.

I suppose to be fair, I'll make my position known. It is none of my business.

Ultimately this question comes down to a definition:

Is "marriage" a union between a man and a woman or a union between two individuals.

I'm personally in favor of formalizing a "union" that shares all the benefits of marriage socially. Spiritually, it will always depend on your religion... And some faiths will never "bless" a gay union or marriage or however you term it... People believe what they believe.

The same argument is taking place on when a child is considered "alive"... Frankly... let the right keep their definition of "marriage" as long as women still get to decide for themselves about with their own body has produced a "life".

Remember though, that every person who fights against change to the social moral code truly believes they're protecting something good, though that self-righteousness is usually rooted in plain old fear of the unknown...

Other people's relationships are not my business. The government's only reason for licensing marriage is have a way to deal with the relationships of parents and children. The only reason government should be involved in relationships is to see that children are born healthy and raised to fit into society. That is not to say that the government should have as much influence on child rearing as it already has through the public school system. Parents should raise their own children to have their own values. Society is being destroyed with the destruction of nuclear family.

Just my opinion.

Well the devil's advocate would say that marriage is everyone's business because marriage was created and established by everyone. "Marriage" was created in the intent of a man and a woman, and is simply a legal word now used to allocate taxes. I personally think it should be allowed for everyone, however you have to accept that because marriage affects so many things in the social and political sphere it is a public issue.

it is none of my business i admit that.. i am a straigt person.. but i believe if they want to get married they should have the same oppurnties as everyone elas but i have a double side sword where this is concern i think that it should be up to the priest or judge if he wants to perform.. in another words it should be legal but if a priest or judge dont want to do it cause of religious belief she or he should not ne held liable for saying no.. there are plently out there who would perform the ceremony.. what goes on in a person home is between the people that live there plain and simply....

well if it becomes natural to people's eyes and ways then what will the next generation be? It really is for the next generation people are thinking of. I know I don't want to see all gay people when I get old. I think people make it there business.

"Gay marriage" becomes the public's business if, by virtue of the status of becoming married, the two gay partners become eligible for many of the benefits that heterosexual married couples enjoy. For example, heterosexual married couples can be insured on their partners employment-provided health insurance policies; gay partners who are not "married" cannot. For heterosexual married partners, when one dies, the other is entitled to social security benefits; "unmarried" gay partners cannot. These benefits cost either employers, or the federal government, to have to pay for benefits they were not obligated to pay in the past -- hence the interest of the general public in the legal relationship status of gay partners.

Don't care much what sexual activities that people do.

However, "marriage" is a legal thing. Any legal thing affects everyone under its jurisdiction. Just like any other law that is passed, or any other court ruling, I am interested because it does affect me.

Does that answer your question w/o a fight?

Telling us that it is none of your business very strongly implies that, if it comes to a vote, your vote would be that you would want gay marriage to be legal.

If so, do you live in a state where that has already been voted on? If so, then you lost.

It appears that most voters in America want to make it their business.

Marriage should only be the business of the man and women it includes.

I don't think what other people do is any of my business unless they are acting criminal. Then it really isn't up for me to decide if it was criminal that is what the police and the court system is for. But being Gay is not criminal anymore and what two people do behind closed doors is their business not mine.
