You could try hitting up local garage sales for things you think will sell. Old toys (GI Joes from the 1960s, Barbies, Star Wars toys, and so forth) do pretty good online and if you find a cache of them at a garage or estate sale you can turn a profit. You could also list things online as a service for other people: you list it and ship it, then collect a commission. If you do that, make sure you take into account Ebay and Paypal fees when setting a commission percentage. You can either subtract the fees and then take your percentage based on the net or take a bit of a higher percentage from the gross in order to cover the fees. If you take a net percentage, I'd set your commission at 35%. If you take a gross percentage, I'd go 40-50%. Just make sure you research what you're selling so you don't get stuck with a bunch of junk.

I recommend you get into wholesaling and dropshipping. I recommend the following book which costs $10. You can find it at http://www.money-kit.com . It will teach you every single thing you will need to know about succeeding on Ebay, where to find the best products to sell without keeping inventory or worry about shipping. It has has great reviews. There are many wholesalers out there that will ship the items to your customer for you.
But beware: there are many people on the Internet selling lists of wholesalers and dropshippers for $47, $100, and eevn $350. They are all just giving recycled information. I highly recommend you get your hands on the book above for $10. The author will also answer all your questions.
Good luck!

Hi,

Interesting post. I started my eBay selling "adventure" about 4 years ago. I tried unsuccessfully on and off for about 2 years to sell products on eBay. There are so many factors that need to be right in order for people to bid.

I had this nagging feeling that it's a solid business model to sell on eBay, so I didn't give up. My wife was watching TV and saw an infomercial for a course to learn how to sell and be successful on eBay. She bought it for me for my birthday 2 years ago, and I'm EXTREMELY successful at selling on eBay on.

When I saw your question I looked to see if the same kit is still being sold, and I found it for FREE on the Internet! They're only asking $1.95 for shipping!!!!!

I highly recommend this course if you want to be successfull, and you certainly can't beat $1.95. They also tell you where to get the unique items that powersellers are selling

Good Luck
