Absolutely not! Was Robert Frost gay? Nope. Walt Whitman? Negative. Ralph Waldo Emerson? Nein. Poetry is simply the ability to express thoughts in art form. Lots of women think it's sexy, in fact. So no way is it gay!
Edit: Oops--Whitman was gay. Sorry. LOL But he just happened to be a gay poet. Writing poetry isn't what made him gay!

No. While there have been homosexual poets such as Ginsburg and Yeats, most poets are heterosexual, both men and women. And a few were not interested in sex at all, such as the Brownings.
I write poetry and find it a great way to express my feelings. I'm heterosexual and have two grown children although I'm divorced.
I don't let the sexual orientation of a writer or poet influence my opinion of their ability to write.

Hundreds of years ago, being able to woo a woman with the written word was the mark of an accomplished suitor, so I'd hardly consider it "gay."
It has been said that only artists and poets truly understand life, so you should be proud to declare yourself a member of an elite minorty.

No not at all. It is very sexy. Vince Gill says people laugh at him because he sings like a girl. He says that is fine because he lives in a very nice house because he sings like a girl. Be strong, be proud
