It's an expression I just heard used in a song "You're twisting the knife! But you're so pretty!". What does twisting the knife mean? Thanks!

If you were to stab somebody, it would hurt. And if you were to twist the knife around after you did it, it would hurt a lot more.

So what the song is saying is that someone is (emotionally), after some initial insult, hurting another person even more, probably deliberately.

when someone is stabbed, a lot of the time the damage really isnt done until the knife is moved or pulled out. In all cases when you stab someone and twist the knife you are doing the most damage possible with one strike.

I think it goes along with the expression of backstabbing. Someone stabs you in the back thats bad but even worse if they twist the knife.

It is an expression... I borrow money from you for a six month period.. then you state that I will have to pay you interest.. I would say... Wow.. now that is really twisting the knife meaning that you are causing me a type of additional (ADDITIONAL) pain..

You are causing pain intentionally...."twisting the knife" as in it is bad enough you stabbed me but now you are also cruelly twisting the knife.

speaking is particularly like "whats up replaced into up?" speaking is while u are "speaking" in front of greater than a number of ppl. Like a instructor speaks yet she talks while u choose help in my opinion. this is why u communicate for a speech!
