I would not run unless I knew my opponent was really doing bad things in office. I have been asked to run for state office a number of times, so I have thought about it. We have all done things in life. Those things would make up our "record" even if we were not in office, so all those things would be fair game. I would not lie and I would work hard to keep the campaign/party from exaggerating the opponents record. Unfortunately, too much exaggeration and outright lies have become the norm in campaigning. I wish I knew a way to stop it. Every time there is a new election reform, it makes it worse! Reforms always seem to backfire against the voters.

I think putting others down and lieing about their campaign ads reflects their morals. I do not vote for people who are so blatantly disrespectful, I was raised better than that. Besides, this whole republican vs. democrats is just the governments way to keep our minds away from the real matters that count, like affordable health care for everyone, abortion, equality, jobs, etc. They are playing us against each other so we leave their snobbish rich asses alone and stay out of their business. God forbid we tax the 1% of the population who hold the majority of our country's money to help out with more important issues. Our government sucks and we are definitely in way over our heads. I predict in our lifetime we will see an uprising and a war beyond many of our comprehensions.

Of course you would. Its not about what you say or what you do in an election. Accumulating political power is always justified. A matter of fact that has been the premise of my show since I started. I even have people believing we are doing what is morally right.

Just remember to be successful, politics trumps truth every time.

When I see a Negative Ad, I just assume its a lie. I would never vote for someone who runs feeling the need to knock someone else down. If you can't run on a campaign of "Here is what I'm going to do, let this inspire you to vote for me . . . " then I can't vote for you.

No because I think the people won't respect you as much and plus if you have to win by lying then change are you not going to do what is need to be done or your not going to keep your promise anyway.

Neither,,if you have nothing to hide, then why lie or run negatives?. I wounder what a smear campaign is really about and what that person is trying to hide themselves.
