I've had several gostroscopies, and over here you can have your throat numbed with liqued Lidocaine. (Spray)
Apart from that it doesn't taste well, it doesn't get you high what so ever!!
Of course actually drinking it would be a really stupid thing to do, read the leeflet that goes with prescription Lidocaine, and check out what complications drinking Lidocaine can give.....I'm sure you wouldn't even dream of trying it out after you've read that.

Lidocaine is a very potent pain killer/sedative. The only way I know of getting it is by I.V. while you're in the hospital. That's the only place I've ever had it. And that was only on two occasions. Both of which involved emergency surgery. It put me out cold!!!...BOTH times.
If you want to get "high" on something try LIFE!!!

1st of all - how would you get your hands on liquid lidocaine? And 2nd of all - rational thinking should tell you that taking any kind of narcotic, especially something that goes straight into your system like that could not only be dangerous, but deadly.

No. But drinking this TOPICAL (as in apply to the skin ONLY) anesthetic could kill you.
Being a dumbass is often fatal.
