9/10

the equation is (5/6)x=3/4
so times (3/4) by the reciprical of (5/6) which is (6/5)
so (3/4) * (6/5) = 18/20=9/10

Rewrite using math terms...

5/6 * X = 3/4
Multiply by the reciprocal of 5/6 on both sides
(6/5)*(5/6) * X = (3/4)*(6/5)
X = 18/20 .....remember that (6/5)*(5/6)=(30/30) = 1
Now reduce...
X = 9/10

PS The word "of" just means multiply and "is" is equals to and a number can be replaced by X

Let the number be 'x'
(5/6)x = 3/4
5x/6 = 3/4
5x = (3*6)/4
5x = 18/4
x = 18/(4*5)
x = 18/20
x = 9/10
5/6 of 9/10 is 3/4

Let the number be x.
(5/6)x = 3/4
5x/6 = 3/4
Cross multiply: (5x)(4) = (3)(6)
20x = 18
Therefore x = 18/20 = 9/10

Hope this helps :)

(5/6)x=3/4
so 5x = 9/2
so x = 9/10 = 0.9

pumelloman and chyrellos gave great answers.

In particular, read the P.S. that pumelloman added. That should make it easier for you to convert word problems into equations that you can solve.

Good luck!
