This is a serious question, so I'm going to give you a serious answer. You and/or your baby may be at risk if any of the following happens:
-You become swollen, specially your lower extremities and/or around your face.
-You notice that your baby is not moving as frequently as before, or you can't feel it moving for more than 24 hours.
-You notice that you are not urinating as much or as frequently as usual, or your urine looks darker in color.
-Your water breaks and the amniotic fluid is greenish or brownish in color.
-You develop a fever, or get a feeling of generalized malaise [like you were coming up with the flu].
-You notice any kind of abnormal vaginal discharge, specially if accompained by a fever.
-You pass the 42nd week mark without giving birth.

La_Nena is right...
There are risks... but if none are apparent I wouldn;t worry about it. No one has been pregnant forever! I'm 40 weeks and 4 days and I can just imagine your anxiety...
Maybe you can try some natural things to get things moving.. Lots of sex (the sperm contains Prosteglandins (sp?) which help ripen your cervix)
Try taking lots of walks, Watch a good weepy girly movie (like the notebook) a good cry will help release emotions that may be holding you back.
Apparently there is and old wives tale that say Eggplant Parmesean will make you ggo into labor... some say it's the eggplant but homeopathics say it's the basil and other herbs....
Sounds like th makings of a loving night... Enjoy it! and Good luck with your birth!

I am a military dependent so I understand how shity military medical care is. If a few days go by and you are still waiting then I would go to the ER or something just so someone will pay attention to your needs. I am 22 weeks and I am at a base that has no hospital so I get to go off base but if I was in your situation that is what I would do. Keep calling or go up there and do what you need to do to have your baby.

It may become a problem if the baby is large and doesn't fit through the pelvic floor opening, or if you develope fever or sickness. Also if the baby's heart rate changes dramatically, or otherwise has fetal distress and has to be delivered C-section. This can be dangerous. Don't let them make you go longer than about 42 weeks without induction. I hope this helps.

Once you reach week 42, your placenta may stop feeding your baby, and may actually detach from your uterus. This can cause you to bleed to death, and your baby to suffocate. Also, your baby can grow too large, and can actually lay on the umbilical cord and become brain dead. I am not telling you this to freak you out, but I am urging you to push those doctors into inducing you. Please , I have seen this happen many times before. Whenever you think about it,( not that you can think of anything else so far along,) count your babies movements. Drink sweet juice to get that baby moving. If for any reason you cannot get a movement from him, get to a doctor right away!
Good luck, and make those doctors listen!
