I absolutely believe that every single thing happens for a reason. Opportunity is around each and every corner and no one is put into your life if he/she is not meant to be there. Even people who test your patience are there for a reason. Life has many ups and downs.
The downs make you a stronger person-they build character and teach you how to deal with difficult situations. They also allow you to learn what kind of a person you are. Can you overcome this hardship, or will you allow it to tear you down? They make you appreciate all the good times.
The ups also allow you to appreciate all you have been blessed with in life. I do not believe in coincidences. I really believe that each person has a plan and it is up to each of us to make the right decisions. And when we make the wrong decisions, it is also up to us to work through it and learn and grow from it.

it all depends on what you believe in. do you believe in anything and what do you believe in. if you are a non-believer ie you dont even believe you exist then you shouldnt border asking if anything happens for a reason. but if you are a believer ie you believer in something, then you should be able to answer your question. let us think about these --- there is a reason you go to school, work, sleep, wash your clothes, have sex, become pregnant, live on benefit etc. yes, everything happens for a reason. there is a reason he or she had accident, is disabled, an arm robber, lost her parent to ghastly car accident. it could be to avert a more painful ordeal or to save some people from been asaulted by this same person. it could also be the parents died because they were careless with their lives. remember human beings are product of choice. they choose what they want. if you choose to be an arm roober then you have a reason for such decision

I don,t think everything happens for a reason but I do think that we try to find a reason why things happen.
I think that the lesson is to understand what the lesson was , in all the events of our lives.
So this is where we also seem to try and find the reason why things occur, when sometimes its just the lesson we should be looking for.

Yes, things do happen for a reason sometimes, but there's other things that happen without reason.......those are the best ones. If something happens without reason, it is a sure thing it is real because it just is........Doesn't matter though. If you're basing this on a relationship happening or not, with or without reason, it doesn't always come true. I know this for certain..............

The speculation that we have no free will defies common sense and our everyday experience of life. Human society has existed for millennia. It has been able to prosper only by holding its members responsible for their actions.
We also have seen the Chaos Theory and Uncertainty Theories in effect to some degree.
It is undisputed that cosmic radiation interacts with our genes and causes random mutations. The random microcosmic alterations of our genetic material due to cosmic radiation have a profound effect on our macrocosmic genetic heritage.
Random effects in subatomic particles are responsible for the evolution of human beings, including our intelligence, for our emotions, our temperament, our ability to make decisions and thus, our Free Will. Without randomness on the subatomic levels, extending into the macrocosm, there could be no evolution and without evolution, life could not exist.
Therefore, in answer to your question, yes, things happen for a reason, but its not a pre-ordained reason...its just randomness.

It depends how you define reason.
Do things that happen have purpose? Most things, but you have to exclude situations where quantum physics governs the outcome.
This is really a battle of semantics. I would say that regardless of your definition, not everything in this universe happens for a reason because on a quantum scale reason is destroyed.

Yes, but many, if not most, of the reasons for now are beyond me, and in time I think the reasons will be evident.

Or do we simply give reason for everything that happens? Think about it.
