I have a 60 gig Ipod video, but am interested in selling it and getting a Zune when they come out. Does anyone know if I will be able to transfer the music and videos over to the zune?

Is it a compatable format or something different?

A friend had an MP3 player and used Sony music match then he got an ipod and said he couldn't transfer his music match files over to itunes.

With my knowledge, all the music you buy with itunes only works with the iPod company. If you want to be able to use that music on your Zune you will have to burn all your music on to CD's because that converts your music into a different file type, then you will have to rip your music back onto your computer with another program like Nero (http://ww2.nero.com/enu/index.html) music software or another program but NOT i repeast NOT iTunes, iTunes converts those files to acif or acc files which will not be able to work. The Zune specifications are here (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8132772&type=product&id=1158321661056) and they state:
-30GB* hard drive stores up to 7,500 songs, 25,000 pictures or 100 hours of video (128 Kbps)

-Ultracompact player measures just 0.6" thin and weighs 5oz.

-Supports MP3, WMA and ACC audio formats, displays JPEG image formats and WMV, MPEG-4 and H.264 video formats

So my suggestion would be to FIRST when you get it test to see if you can copy the files over to another folder and transfer them that way or if that doesn't work burn them onto a CD with the burn option in iTunes, it should work, i am planning on getting one too. Hopefuly we do not have to buy their music and can use our own. I'm pretty sure we will be able to use our own. Your welcome and i hope this answered your question.

i do not comprehend a lot about the Zune, yet i imagine it could be like all different MP3 participant. once you connect it to the computer it really is going to create that is own pressure. i'd then both correct click and deliver to or click and drag the music archives onto the Zune. it may even contain that is own music software, i do not comprehend. yet when it does, use that. i'm quite particular that is not nicely matched with iTunes. once you've iTunes save purchases then burn them onto a CD, not as a knowledge disc and then rip decrease back into your puzzling pressure utilising something like abode windows Media participant.
