I know what you are going through. You are not alone. If you are fulfilled, why change?

I am over 40 and like the same things as my 17 year old daughter. I went with her to an anime convention with her and had at blast. I loved cosplay and anime hell (at least the under 18 year old stuff). I like to go to movies, play on the computer, and other stuff. My kids still ask me what am I going to be when I grow up! I've been a college student, factory worker, cosmetologist, biochemist (my degree that I got), full time mother, personal trainer (my bodybuilder days), went back to graduate school (molecular biology this time) and I worked in a health food store. It is your life and you can experience it anyway you like! You don't have to be like everybody else. Be grounded in your own life that you don't need approval from other people. I have been different than other people (like right now I am a vegan and organic) and I am great with that. I will sometimes get down on myself because I feel lonely and seperate from everyone else, but then someone will remind me that I am fine (my pet Kitty) and the world is bright again.

Maybe you are just smarter than the average bear and realize that there's no real joy in bars and clubbing. You will find someone when the time is right....if that is what God has intended for you. Indeed, some people answer a higher spiritual calling...maybe that is in store for you. Either way, there is no rush...take your time. More power to you, since you enjoy your life just as it is. It would be nice to think of yourself as not "being different from the norm" but as being "special," "unique," "your own person."
God bless you now and in the future!

Bars and clubbing aren't all what they're cracked up to be. Maybe attending a good church and being with the young adults college and careers group would appeal to you more. You'd be surprised how much fun you can have without the addition of liqueur or drugs!!!

Yep! I have a brother-n-law who is 47 years old.Never dated or went out with a girl, but he is totally happy with his life.
As for the "Norm", who gets to say what is or isn't Normal. You are not a clone.Be yourself..As long as you are happy with your life style, don't worry about being different.
Heck,if everyone were the same, this would be a very boring world..think about it..

Sweetheart, don't be in such a hurry to grow up. You are just fine. If you love your life the way it is, leave it alone. You will probably meet some one when the time is right.
So for now just be happy the way you are.

i was like that too. i didn't start clubbing until i was 21. now i'm done with college and have more responsiblities and can't enjoy that type of life anymore. i now regret not going out more when i was younger. sometimes you can get comfortable in your environment and not realize what you are missing in life.
