First of all, I wouldn't allow myself to get into that situation. If I were that sick, and had to go to the hospital, I'd tell the attending doctor to not tell me that I am dying. Too many times when someone is told that they are dying in x amount of days, weeks, months, that person usually dies very close to the allotted time or sooner. If that same person was not told the bad news, I think their chances of survival would be greater.
