It seems there's always something "big" that happens right before elections to impact and swing votes. Is this all just a game that plays with the peoples minds?

I would say yes just like everything by any political party is planned. Remember when Reagan was inaugurated, the same day the American hostages were freed. And what about this thing in Colorado now. All of a sudden a minister opposing the same sex union bill is outed a week before the election. Nothing just comes out, pr people are paid to do these things for BOTH parties.

I am just concern about the future repercusssions on other loonies like Saddam. What kind of message does this send to Kim Jong ll or the Iranian President? Do you think they will be scared or knowing that they will be killed anyways, they will fight to the death. Kim Jong ll knows that he will be put to death if capture, he probably would launch all the nukes North Korea has before giving up, ditto for the Iranian government. When you thinkg about that, you may realize there is not much to celebrate.

I suspect that your reasoning is correct. However, I'll bet dollars to donuts that Saddam gets off free. Why? Because the president of Iraq is a pussy who can't stand up to the people who are destroying Iraq's chances for independence. This business with Saddam isn't over. There's another trial to be concluded and then Saddam goes for a retrial on each count. By the time he is finished with these legal manipulations he will be in an Iraq run by who knows who and Iran will take over. The Iranians will finally kill him because they hate him passionately.

Wouldn't be a bad idea, though it couldn't be as useful as John Kerry's "joke."
