The magnetic poles are migrating at an accelerating rate. In the past 400 years the north magnetic pole has moved 1100km into the Arctic Ocean.

Currently, the north magnetic pole is moving 15km per year, and was located in 2005 at 82.7° N 114.4° W and should be at 83.0° N 115.2° W in 2006.
