I always see the good in people unless they hurt me.

What I do is squint a bit and watch the others talk to them. I am crouched down in a position that offers attack if need be. Slowly and carefully I approach and if all seems well then I will seek the person in question towards me and offer my hand in gesture of friendship.
I see the good news first and experience the persons personality. The bad news is something I don't wait for but if it is there it will show itself.

I'll put it like this, have you ever been at work and a new person comes? Iv'e noticed that the new person acts all nice and everything because they're new and they want everybody to like them. No sooner than they start to fit in and get to know everybody, their ugliness, starts to show through. My point is, of course you see the good in people at first, but if they're being fake, you start to see the bad. I'm not saying this is the case with all people, but some.

I'm forever seeing the good news...occasionally long after I should have seen the bad news.

I start with the good. After seeing the good, the bad wouldn't seem as bad anymore. It's just my way of dealing with things.

First the good, then my optimism is good so then I will be able to handle the bad news. If otherwise the bad will overpower the good news and you won't be happy

That usually depends on the presentation I "Like" to see the good in people first.
