Yea.
All that are opposed need not take advantage of its benefits when it does gain acceptability. When/if stem cell research becomes acceptable, then those who think it is morally wrong should not benefit from it. Just calling a spade a spade.
Anyone suffering from an illness has the right to a degree of dignity, and a possible cure, or relief from discomfort.

I support any kind of medical research that shows positive results. And ADULT and CORD BLOOD stem cell research does. So far, embryonic stem cell research does not show positve results. And MJF's ad is NOT about stem cell research. It is an advertisement for a democratic nominee for a political office. The bill that he references (in the state of Missouri) is not a stem cell bill, it is a human cloning bill. Nobody wishes diseases like Parkinson's, MS, or Alzheimer's on anyone. But to use that argument in an effort to get votes is shameful.

Yes, embryonic included. Here's why--only the embryonic stem cells have the potential to turn into any kind of cell in the whole body. Adult stem cells are more limited, and offer fewer research possibilities. Embryonic stem cells are taken from fetuses when the woman has already decided not to carry the pregnancy and has chosen to donate the tissue for research. It helps many women feel like some good has come from their unwanted pregnancies. Fetuses are presently NOT conceived just for the purpose of harvesting cells in the United States.

Adult- Yes

Embryonic- No

Think of it this way. Why did we throw out all the scientific studies performed by the Nazis? Because they tortured and killed innocent human life to achieve their results.

Embryonic stem cell research also would achieve it's findings at the expense of ending innocent human life. For those that argue, it's only ending the life of those embryo's which would already be destroyed, I would also like to see an end to the destruction of those cells which are used for infertility purposes. What's the point of creating life just to destroy it?

Apparently there are several studies that say that, so far, fetal stem cells are useless in curing or significantly impacting disease. There has been limited success with adult stems cells, but not as much as has been touted with stem cells in general. I suppose the research is continuing on both. So, although I was in favor of fetal stem cells research and use eventually, now I'm not so sure.

I think that embryonic stem-cell research is pointless! Not one cure has been found from embryonic stem-cell research--not even one! However, adult stem-cell research has lead to several discoveries--so keep that up.
