I learned this from a Baptist holy roller--they don't care about the animals or the environment because they believe that it was all provided by God for their use. They are supposed to be "good stewards" whatever that means. The woman who told me this claims to "love animals" but she caught a racoon in a humane trap used to catch feral cats and she blew it's brains out with a shotgun while still in the cage. I couldn't even talk to her after that. Sure, she "loves animals" until one proves to be "inconvenient" to her. Hey, they were here first.

There is no more selfish of an act than killing a baby that you created so that you can keep living your selfish lifestyle. Your right, we don't need to keep adding humans to this world, we need to teach the humans on this planet to have more self control. That means we respect life, including human life. Peace begins in the womb. The scars created by abortion go far beyond the woman who suffers silently, the child who is killed, the scars go into our society and poison everyone, including children. Abortion is a statement that a lesser being has no choice. That is so for animals as well, if you claim that we can't figure out how to solve the problems of the people we have now, how will abortion improve those problems??? Just because you chose to adopt does not mean that is best for everyone. You talk about imposing lifestyles, how can you impose yours on others? What we need are consistent policies that are good for everyone, policies that allow people and animals to live freely. Policies that also require people to be responsible for their actions rather than saying that they will have sex anyway, just get rid of the consequences. That goes against nature. Animals are innocent, but that is because they only live by instict, and they are not intelligent enough to use strategy. That is why we are at the top of the food chain. We should respect animals, but people are animals also, and that means we should teach people a consistent respect for ALL life. This means you don't step on ants for fun, or tie a dog to a chain in the backyard, or waste food at the dinner table, or have sex when you can't take care of a baby.

Animals stay instinctive forever, not innocent. Tigers will not grow up to be kitty cats and Oversized grizzlies aren't great big teddy bears. I say stay out of the woods but old traditions and ignorances have people out there still hunting "game". I agree all life is important to the same degree, as are all things in this universe, but I disagree that things should be put on a pedestal because of it. That's delusion in my eyes, all things are expendable, for all things will at some point or another become expended. It isn't the best way to live and it's great for all things to be happy and healthy, but if you're always going about the time putting those types of things on your shoulders then you'll never be happy yourself, and then what will your life be worth. The meaning of my life is to experience joy, last I checked it was each individual organisms job to take care of it's own existance. I doubt if I stopped looking when I crossed the street or if I started going into discriminative territories that I'd be worried about or missed by the masses if something ever happened to me. It'd be nice if all things could get along and perhaps you can start a group to annoy some hunters somewhere, but the main point of the matter is that animals have their cards dealt for them just as humans do, and in a way, humans wouldn't be the way they are if they weren't meant to. Any animal could've just as easily been born a human who could very possibly learn to like hunting from it's surroundings and parental figures, and any human could've just as easily been born an animal sought after as game. Perhaps this already happened and it's playing out now. I try to protect myself whenever possible and I suggest all other organisms do the same. If they cannot do they, then clearly they're done for.

If everybody protested the same things, there would be a lot that gets overlooked. People do better when they are not all doing everything... that is the concept that Henry Ford put into use in auto factories. Of course, some people should protest if animals near extinction are being poached. Others should be on the task of making sure that unborn people aren't being killed... if that is their belief.

Congratulations, but it's obvious that you only want answers from people who will agree with you. No, I don't think animals should be poached or treated badly. I love animals but, animals are not people and as a human being, pardon me for caring a little more about feeding an clothing an orphaned child vs. spending money on a sweater and toys for a stray dog or cat that I may pick up and take home with me as a pet. They are not the same. God help me If I should think more of my pet than I do of my neighbor or my fellow man.

Wow you sure sound like your passionate about this!
Congratulations on being a loving enough person to have adopted two children.
I commend you for being an animal lover!
It breaks my heart to see a child hurt in any way and it equally breaks my heart to see or know of animal cruelty.
Its a problem that is not going to be fixed any time soon and that's sad but i,m afraid its a fact.
I grew up with animals ,Horses ,ponies, cows ,pigs, rabbits, cats, dogs, chickens, snakes, goats, geese, and a few other stray frogs and such...
We loved our animals and they were a part of our family and they were very spoiled as were we .
I have taught my children and their children to love all creatures (man and animal) and because of this I have several adopted grandchildren-One little girl, one ball python, one bearded dragon, one chinchilla, two cats, two dogs.
I also have other grandchildren who were not adopted.
I love my human children and grandchildren just a little more than the rest. That is being honest!
I,m a christian.

No doubt there are atrocities committed against animals and people all the time. You can only fight evil one cause at a time. Each cause has its merit. Yes I think the life of a gorilla and an elephant is valuable. But so is the life of an unborn child. If a woman stabs her infant in its crib that's murder, infanticide, but if a few months earlier while the baby is still in her womb & she has him vacuumed out (or otherwise tortured & killed) then that's "abortion" & legal? I happen to think human life is valuable. If you had seen the footage I saw (in Catholic school) of actual abortions & fetuses you would be haunted for life, as I have been. Abortion is murder. Period.
I believe we should stop cruelty & murder of all innocent creatures.
Or is human life so disposable? Birth control is about using protection so that you don't get pregnant, not killing the child that was already conceived because you messed up & that life isn't convenient for you. There is always adoption as well. Many people that want children & are unable to have any. Not that I'm condemning women who have abortions. In certain cases I'm sure they see no other way out & they probably have not been educated in it enough to understand what it really means. I know a couple of women who have had abortions & regret it the rest of their lives. Would be hard to get over the guilt for anyone I think. The bottom line is that it's sad how many people don't take sex seriously, aren't careful & wind up having children that they don't want, then either aborting them or mistreating them, neglecting them & otherwise abusing them. Children are a gift & an enormous responsibility that many people don't respect enough.
Anyway, I'll step off the soapbox for now! But I think someone should stand up for the rights of those who can't speak for themselves (the innocent animals and babies that are killed everyday...)
Congratulations on your adoptions! Good for you! That's awesome. We can't change the world by ourselve but we can each make little changes & decisions in our lives to make the world a better place one step at a time...

Those who champion anti-abortion also hold human life above animal life. There aren't many Janists among them. They usually justify themselves with religion and one that is not universally accepted at that. They don't reckon the cost to society or the lives of the young who made a simple mistake. They also don't consider that life is a geometric progression and population is becoming a problem with one of the most virulent species on this planet.

people who writhe and cry and scream in front of women's clinics care about the unborn. Strangely, once there is a real baby to consider and support, because some of those that these people "saved" might need more support than the mother can provide by herself, these same people are the first to scream in another direction, complaining about the rising costs of helping people who need a helping hand.
I would like to see one of these bullies step up and say he or she will be willing to now help with the baby.
These loud, abrasive, holier than thou people have scared a few women that needed help away from these clinics. And...there are more than a few babies born that are not wanted, not loved, abused, ignored, and hated. This is the abortion protesters' legacy in the end; not "saving the unborn" as they say.

Ok. I am a Christian, and I am against aboration. I also agree with almost everything you said. Yes, the children starving are just as important. Perhaps you could ask why animal activists don't also protest starvation?? Because it's not the issure they're protesting at the time.
And it would be cool if you wouldn't catigorize people in as large a group as "Christians". K thanks.
