I began taking a 5 day antibiotic during my period. I will finish the anitbiotic on the day that I am supposed to begin my new pack of pills. I have been on the same birth control pill for 4 years and I am very good at taking the pill every day.

The last time I was on antibiotics, my pharmacist told me that I needed to use a back up method for an entire month, just to be on the safe side.

It was a hassle, but I didn't get pregnant. I also don't take antibiotics anymore. :)

My daughters friend got pregnant after taking anti biotics and birth control pills. She was also very good about taking hers. You need to use a back up for a full month after taking anti biotics.

Since different brands of birth control pills have different levels of hormones, I would call your gynocologist/doctor to see what they recommend for that specific pill.
