For them to win a ring with this team
-Kobe has to win another scoring title, mvp, and lead the playoffs in scoring. Not only that he has to win a scoring title shooting less shots and hitting a higher %. In other words he's a great scorer but needs better shot selection.
-Llamar Odom needs to average about 20pts a game, 9boards, and 6-7assists.
-They need Rodmonovic to stay healthy and hit clutch 3's.
-Kwame Brown must grab ten boards a game and play D.
-Luke or Kwame are going to have to be the 3rd scoring threat.
-Their bench must stay healthy.

The reason Kobe must win a scoring title because it reafirms his position as the NBA's most dominant player and he's not a Magic Johnson type player no matter how much people say he should be one.

Dude... it is LESS than 5% into the season. Do you get giddy after a footbal team wins ONE game? Or a baseball team wins 8 games?

Kobe is a team killer... the Lakers have looked decent while he sat. They beat the warriors and the Sonics two teams that will most likely miss the playoffs.

What will happen when Kobe's ego takes the floor and squashes the desire of his team mates?

Yes, Bynum had an easy game against the warriors, they have NO center!

I can pretty well guarantee you the Lakers will NOT be in the Western Finals, let alone the NBA Finals.

The Lakers look great.

The key has been the play of the forwards, in general Luke and Lamar -- both are shooting a high percentage, passing well and it is making the triangle offense seem amazing. When they are in the flow they seem unstoppable.

Remember 2001 when the Lakers just forced the Spurs to fold in the playoffs? That triangle offense when it clicks is -- a sight to behold. I remember the Spurs were just giving up and each quarter the Lakers kept increasing the lead and the intensity.

This year could be the same -- great role players like Rick Fox then and Mo' Evan today will make the Lakers a team to make the opponents pause a bit when playing them.

I don't know about making it to finals, but i think they'll do fine during the season. I think they'll be 53-29 at the end of the season. Right now the lakers look good, but it's only the beginning of the season, so it's not the time to get to excited yet. Yes it would be awesome if they ended up in the finals, but they have to work hard and not slack off. They got adjust their defense a little bit and continue to play hard. So far I'm liking what i am seeing from Ronny Teriaf, Farmar, Walton, and Odom. Hope they continue to play like this and they should be fine. Sorry to bulls, spurs, mavericks, suns, and heat but lakers are going to take it this year baby!!!!

What the hell do you mean Kobe won't carry the team and will be a team player? It's Kobe Bryant, the only half-decent son of a ***** on their team. Everybody else just plain sucks. Just because they won a few games doesnt mean their hot ****.

i don't know man but they r clickin so far as a team. Farmar is doing great off the bench, along with Ronny, Luke, Cook, Evans. there are a couple of things different this year than from the last: they have more depth in their roster, they have some great 3-point threats this year, they have more chemistry, they have a better low-post presence, and kobe's gonna win the m.v.p award since he's gonna have a great scoring and passing year. lakers might take it all. after all, they do have best record in the league.
