I was a snair drummer a few years, ago, and I'm looking to get back into drumming, but this time with a drum set. What's the best drum set to start out with, that's a decent price, but reasonably good?

Personally, if you are just getting into playing on a whole kit, I don't think it matters. Just get a set that sounds good to you. You can always gradually upgrade the cymbals and the heads when your ready.

Then if you are ready for another set you will know it and then you will know what to get by how it sounds to you. Also, visit your local Guitar Center or music instrument shop and they can usually point you in the right direction.

Yeah, Tama Rockstar is a real good deal. I have a Rockstar Custom, which is almost the same. Tama is made durable, with strong hardware. I'm real happy with my Tama set.
