My son pressed random keys on the keyboard while playing a game and the screen jumped to upside down, upon further mashing of the keyboard by my frustrated self the screen is now sideways!! How can I rectify this- it's driving me loopy!!

To revert to a right-side up display, hold down the CTRL, ALT and UP (arrow) keys.

Sorry about this but.... that is FUNNY! Anyway, it could be a joke program, I had one that everytime I clicked the mouse, it looked like bullet holes all over the screen, it really cracked me up til I couldn't firgure out how to stop it LOL. Try pressing Esc, if that doesn't work, check your task maganger for anything weird like any exe programs that shouldn't be working. Try restarting your PC also.

If you are running Xp, have you get service pack 2 installed?

The symptoms you describe occurred with Xp service pack 1, and resolved with service pack 2.
reducing the screen res to 640 * 400 and restarting, then setting the res back to normal should restore the screen.

on the desktop. right click then click properties. come to setting tab and change the screen resulotion to 800*600. It will come normal

Fiddle with your monitor settings.
although it's very interesting about that control alt and arrow keys the other participant stated, it didn't work for me :(

Silly ... just flip the whole monitor so the picture is right.
