Uh, if you lived in the eastern Midwest, you would. Here in Indiana just a few years ago, I was going through a small town & people were handing out a paper at the stop sign in town. When I got there I took one (thinking it would be some community newspaper about fundraisers for the fire department, church bazaar anouncements, etc), said 'thanks' & drove on...when I got to where I was going, glanced over on the seat to see it was a KU KLUX KLAN NEWSPAPER, I about freaked! I was planning on stopping & throwing it back at them on the way back, but by the time I left my friends house, they were gone. Still weirds me out, but they are definately still around.

Now I have heard they have a lot of young skinhead guys joining that hate Jewish people more than blacks. I saw something not too long ago on TV about these Punk Rock concerts they have on farms out in the boonies for all the young guys. They ARE out there, & they are still recruiting.

The Klu Klux Klan never existed.

The KU klux klan however still exists. In fact, I think it's growing. You don't hear much about them anymore because there are so many other awful things in the world that get our attention today.

They're still around but there are very few groups left. One of the reasons you never really hear about them is because they aren't very active anymore, it's outdated and they don't have as much political power. Without the political power, it makes it harder for them to get away with doing all the bad things they do. They mostly work quietly now, usually by working with other hate groups since they don't have a lot of their own members anymore.

They still show up in the news once and awhile. It's usually when they decide to march somewhere. That in itself is not news but the thousands of protesters that show up makes it news.

Oh, they're still around. I think the Dave Chappell Show did a fine job with the "Blackest White Man". Blind black man thought he was white and was for White Power. Maybe this funniest routine I've ever seen.

The Klan, unfortunately, is still around; just keeping a low profile until the political climate seems right for a re-emergence.

They were forced to disband in 1953 when the wife of the local Kligrapp in Mississippi put a pair of red socks in with the whites and all the robes came out pink!

They're still around. They haven't had much political power since the sixties, however. Their fall came when they killed those three civil rights workers, two white, one black, in 1964. And, the government brought them down using the FBI.

They are hiding. That is what they always did best. They do have a rally in Skokie, a Jewish suburb of Chicago, now and then just to remind all of us that the cowards still exist.
